      • Biostatistics I (with Intermediate R) for Public Health Practitioners and Researchers in Liberia

A certificate course to introduce learners to Biostatistics and implementation in R Statistical Software. Second of a course series being offered in partnership with the University of Liberia School of Public Health.

        Classroom Sessions (10 hours)

        Guided learning

We will have in-person lectures focused on statistical approaches to making sense of data, through hypothesis testing, descriptive analyses, and bi-variable statistical comparisons. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the importance of data quality and developing quantitative research questions using secondary data sources.

        Lab Sessions (10 hours)

        Practical implementation

We will work in small groups at our lab to practice implementation of biostatistics in R Statistical Software. Functions to complete data cleaning, statistical tests, and data visualization will be applied to data of local public health relevance.

        Independent practice (20 hours)

        Assignments and Activities

Video tutorials and practice exercises are made available on the Student Portal for registered students to access and use. Independent practice will be required to demonstrate successful understanding and application of concepts taught in the classroom.

        Recognition

        Certification and Assessment

Students who successfully complete assignments and attend all sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion. A skills report with level of mastery will also be provided based on assessment performance. Documents will reflect joint partnership between Q4D Lab and ULSOPH.

      • Fee

$75USD to be paid at registration via Mobile Money, Ecobank transfer, or cash.
